This is a super easy DIY project with little to no crafty skills needed. Just need some paint and sand paper and viola!
I mixed 1 tbl of grey and about a 1/2 tbl of blue to make the color I wanted. I wanted the blue to be grayish and old looking. If you want it to be brighter then just do straight blue!
Take your chip brush and paint the paddle. I got so caught up in painting that I forgot to take photos. Oopsie!
Next I found a wooden star cut out that I decided to use as a stencil. You however can hand draw them, or find any shape you want to use or create your own stamp out of a potato or an object of your choice!! Nothing like a little hand carving to get your creative on!
To do the stars I put a little grey on my trusty paint pallet. Um, can you tell this thing is well loved!
I love how the star didn’t leave a solid imprint of the shape but instead gave it a worn look. Magical things can happen unexpectedly!
After the paint is dry grab a sheet of sandpaper and go over the paddle breaking up the colors and letting some of the wood show through. I also drilled a hole in the handle and added a piece of twine, but again, this project went so fast that I forgot to take photos!
I love how it turned out! What is the most unexpected thing you have had happen during a DIY project?
