Have you wanted to start couponing and saving money while getting grocery’s for your family? A lot of people ask me how I do it and what you have to do to be successful at it. Well here is my brief “how I got started” and some tips for you to get started, or expand your knowledge even for avid couponers.
When I graduated high school I moved in with my at the time boyfriend. I thought it was going to be so much fun, until “im an adult now” smacked me in the face, and HARD! I really had no idea how much everything was going to cost, and with my parents having 4 kids it gave me a whole new respect for them, especially having 2 brothers who would eat everything before my sister and I even knew mom went shopping. I started using coupons from the cirular to save a bit of money on things we used, but if I didnt need something at the time the coupon was out I didnt get it, then two weeks later I wished I had that coupon back.
Years later after I had my own child and quit my job to be a stay at home mom was when I took couponing to a whole new level. At that time there really wasnt much info on couponing so I just used coupons when I could and tried to stock up on things we used daily when a good coupon was out. Then came the extreme coupon show and I realized I needed to really learn how to coupon because I was not nearly saving enough money. Maybe $5-$10 a trip and I thought that was great..until I saw this show and had to laugh at myself for being so naive to the couponing game.
I came across this course a while ago and decided to give it a go to see how I could save even more on my grocery bill. I was so impressed that I decided to become an affiliate so that I could share it would you and then you could know what I know.
I really think you should check it out and see what new info you could learn too. I went from saving $5-10 to $50+ and a lot of the time I can stock up on things I need for pennies if not FREE! If you check it out let us know what new info you learned in the comments so others can see what is working for you!
I always do coupon match ups before a shopping trip. I use to do these myself by checking local ads and scouring my coupon ads from redplum, smartsource, and PG saver and the online coupons…but it took FOREVERRRRR. Then I was introduced to blogs that already did the work..they deserve some special street cred for how much devotion they put into this process! Here are some of my favorite ladies who help me cut my time in half planning my shopping trips!
- Coupon Divas – http://www.coupondivas.com She is the first one I came across and fell in love with her instantly!
- Lady Savings – http://www.ladysavings.com I love her site because she does coupon match ups plus stock up deals which is simply amazing!
- IheartTheMart – http://www.iheartthemart.com is an amazing site for Wal-Mart Match Ups
There are so many more out there and a lot of them are based on their area since sale flyers are different regionally. So when you are searching for coupon match ups for whatever store you shop at, make sure you take a look around their site to see where they are from to make sure their flyers are match yours!
Another thing I have changed is how I cut my coupons. I use to keep a binder and cut EVERY coupon I got from flyers and online and it was a LOT of work and very time consuming having to go through them every week to take out ones that expired. So, now I cut ones that I use frequently and leave the rest in the ads. I stack the ads in a box and when I do my match ups I just pull out the ad and cut the specific coupons I will need for that trip.
I think you will learn so much from this course and I look forward to sharing more knowledge with you so if you have any other questions please leave a comment down below! :)
