So last week I was talking to you about “being everywhere” and blogging outside of your blog and gave you some insight on why submission sites are important and how to use them.
Well I promised you a list of submission sites to add your content and grow your reach. I must admit…this list is going to keep growing as I find more. So bookmark it, pin it, print it and post it on your bathroom mirror..whatever you want to do just SAVE IT and come back whenever you publish a new post so you can submit it to places on this list!
Using submission sites is free advertising online for your blog. They feature your post with a photo and link back to your blog. It is the BEST way to promote your blog to different audiences, grow your reach, and increase traffic.
After every post I publish I submit it to at least 5 of these sites. Not every site will take your post and that is ok. Just continue to post to sites until someone takes the bait and features your post. And then submit it to more. I like to aim for at least 2 features on every post.
Stay tuned for next #blogtiptuesdsay when I will walk your through my ritual of writing a post, publishing..and everything I do after! It took me months of tinkering to finally have a “posting plan” and I want to share it with you!
This is a long list of the best blog sites you can submit articles too and I do not advise you try everything at once. Test the waters with a few and get the hang of it. Once you do it will be second nature. So take a look and save this post to come back to for a great reference!

Great post! Thank you! I didn’t know about some of these, so I’ll definitely be checking them out :)
Great List! Thank you for sharing! Pinning :)
What a great resource! This is something I don’t do like I should…so I will definitely use it. You are awesome to share it with us all!
awesomely crazy lol. that took forever to compile that list..and i found more today that I need to go back in and add lol. I love using submission sites. Some only bring a few readers and others bring in tons daily…but all it takes is one reader to join your email list and become a loyal follower and using these sites will get the job done and ensure that your posts are being seen/read! Next week Ill be posting my “posting plan” for everyone. hoping to get a printable made for it too!!
This is a great article and resource! Thank you for putting this all together.
Thanks girl!
I didn’t know about most of these sites. So helpful, thank you, Jessica!
Thanks for more information. I have a question for all shelter bloggers. There was a very very popular interior decorating site I liked and was following on Facebook. When she showed a kitchen, I would comment something like “I did the same” and add photo of my project. I truly thought the idea of social media was to share ideas, especially in the line of interior decorating. Well, the site blocked me from commenting. Needless to say, I removed her from Blogs I Love on my website page and Unliked her on facebook. I am surprised she did not send a message to me and kindly ask that I not do whatever was bothering her. What is your opinion? Was I wrong to share my projects on her facebook page? I would have apologized and stopped if she would have sent me a nice message.
I’m sure Jess has her own answer, but I saw this and thought I’d chime in. Personally, I encourage my readers to share their versions of my projects on my Facebook page. If they post a link to it in my blog comments, I delete it (because of no follow tags, comments looking spammy, they dropped a link and said NOTHING, etc.). But on social media? The POINT is connecting with your readers.
However, if someone were to ONLY say, “I did the same” and link to a photo, I would think it sounded like they were accusing me of stealing their work. So I would recommend saying something more. Like, “I did the same thing and LOVE it! Thanks for sharing!” to make it sound more like a genuine comment.
But I agree with you–blocking you without saying a word seems harsh. That’s a very good way to alienate readers.
well said Chelsey! I always ask people to post pics of their projects. I even had a lady email me about my cakes I posted..and I walked her through everything and helped her as much as I could..and she emailed me photos of her cake for her daughter and it meant soo much to me to have that connection with a reader. like a “melt my heart” moment! I would not trade that for anything!
I do not think you are wrong on this. I love when people share ideas and images and connect with me on social media and if you read a lot of my DIY posts, I tell people to post pics if they make it so I can see their ideas come to life. Blocking someone is a bit harsh without saying anything about it first. Im going to be mean right now…but maybe yours was nicer and she was mad hahaha. But I just read what Chelsey said too…I didnt think of it that way, but I tend to get excited when someone connects with me in general so I am not sure I would have personally taken it that way, but there are a lot of people who are more sensitive on matters like this than I am.
My opinion is that if she was not brave enough to say how she felt before blocking you then she really is in blogging for herself and not to connect with her readers. I am sure you are going to be more cautious from now on, which is kinda sad that you have to feel that way, but I know this feeling all too well. I had a blogger email me and tell me about 5 things I was doing wrong when I first started…I took it to heart and it really bugged me and hurt, but then I got over it and realized although I cannot please everyone, I can please myself. And when I am happy, I blog better, I engage more, and I built a better blog because of it.
So I would do a post and encourage people to share their projects…just do the opposite of what happened and you will feel better lol
Oh, and as a follow up to message above, her decorating site also features posts on how to succeed in your own business as a woman. That’s why I was surprised at her blocking my comments too, as if she was annoyed I was trying to bring attention to my website when she encourages many ways to succeed on her blog. ???? So confused with social media sometimes.
its not social media that is confusing, its her message. she may promote that she wants to help women build blogs, but it seems that deep down she is just “saying” things that make people want to follow her for her own benefit. One of the biggest things I have realized with bloggers is this..if I see a blogger promoting how important it is to engage with readers, how they want to help and connect, or they ask questions in their posts and there are a ton of comments answering the questions…BUT NOT ONE SINGLE RESPONSE to a comment anywhere on their blog…I stop following them because they are just preaching what they THINK they should preach and are not being sincere. I see this all too often. And I know when you get a lot of readers it is hard to keep up with the comments and I am sure I have missed responses but there is not one post on my blog that you will not see my interacting with my readers. its SOOO important!
Thank you Chelsey and Jessica! I feel better tho I will be cautious. It’s OK, I am learning everyday. Have a nice day
weve all been there lol. have a good day too!
Ah! This is a great list–pinning! I didn’t know about many of these sites. :)

Great list! Thank you!
But I missed this: http://shareatopia.com/
cool thanks for sharing! I will add it to the list for sure!!
Great post! Thank you, I never would have guessed how hard blogging is. It is a ton of work and sucks up tons of hours. Trying to get one started is much harder than I thought it would be. I have a great appreciation for successful blogs.
It does take time but I know bloggers who are part time and do wonderful things and make money. I think being in the right niche helps a ton too. But I hope these posts help and come back next tuesday when I show you what I do from start to end of every post :) It should be really helpful!..at least I hope so! lol
Thanks for compiling this list!
you are quite welcome ;)
Hi, I had not heard of these sites. So, is it ok to submit a post that is identical to the one on our own blogs? Does that upset Mr Google or is it ok?
That is a brilliant question and I am sure others are thinking the same thing. The great thing about submission sites is that you submit your photos, link to your post, and maybe an excerpt of what it is about..and some submission sites require even more info…but in the end all the sites are doing is posting your photo, linking to your blog and writing a description of your post.
Basically it is giving you google juice because you are building links back to your site..and since the text is not the same, then its perfectly ok doing this. Its just like being featured at a link party..they post a pic and your link. As long as the text and headlines are different, then all is good in google world :)
And it helps bring new audiences to your blog and this is where the post about “being everywhere” comes into play. I talk there about how you have 7 seconds to keep the readers attention and get them hooked on your brand..so pull new audiences in and then figure out how to keep them. Thats a post for another time, and I will eventually cover it..im thinking I may actually do a video series on this topic because I have SOO much to say and the posts get so long lol.
Anyway, I hope you come back next week when I walk you through what exactly I do after I publish a post :)
That is incredibly helpful, thank you. I will be back. Would you like to post this post on our new Blog Booster Party that opens today. It would really help our bloggers. http://60-thenew40.com/fridays-blog-booster-party-1/
Thanks, Kathleen

Joanne What’s On The List
I’d love to click through to some of your other “blog tip goodies” but your pin button comes up on them so you can’t actually click to the article. Just thought you might want to know
Hey Amanda…you can click on it just not where the pin button is. The whole image will turn frosted looking but you should be able to click on it on the bottom or corner of the image. if that doesnt work let me know, maybe I need to make those images bigger lol. I cant turn the pin it button off for just a few images..it will make me do the whole page :(
thanks for letting me know though. if all else fails, they are listed under blog stuff :)
Wow, thanks so much for all the information!! I better get busy :)
You are quite welcome! Just pick a few and try them out and go from there!
I’m a relatively new blogger and I can’t wait to really look through this list. Thank you so much!
Hi there! I found your page featured on the Weekend re-Treat link party. Thanks for sharing all these sites! I’m going to check them out now!
Found your post on Weekend re-Treat – great resource for beginners! My blog about being in a band is barely a month old… As I work on promotion and sharing I am beginning to think my blog is too unique and I don’t feel that I fit into any of the blogging categories out there. I’ve thought about adding more “relevant” aspects for the sake of interest (i.e. fashion, travel), but I worry about the purpose/integrity of my original idea. Do you have any advice for how to define one’s blog niche?
https://everythingtlt.blogspot.com
Hey Kristyn! I think that its great that you went into blogging already knowing your target niche. I wouldnt change your niche, you would be surprised how many people may be wanting to read a blog like that. My advise is to really focus on getting posts up and out and marketing (maybe read the post I just did on what I do after every post to help you figure out how to market your posts and get more attention to them). Find forums that you can join to get the word out about your blog and make new friends. Forums are great places to really spread the word, especially when your niche is so specific.
If you like blogging about those other topics, then maybe you could add a section to your menu bar about those things, but I would focus on your main niche topics before I would get into anything else. ok so I was just at your site and here are some things I thought about….what about doing interviews of other bands, maybe doing videos on how to set up practice sets…equipment…sound and lighting systems and so on. Then you could link amazon to any products you talk about and make some extra cash when anyone orders any of the stuff you talk about. You could also do reviews of places you have shows…there are so many ideas for your niche. Have you looked at other blogs that relate to you and see what kinds of things they talk about?
Really try to think of questions new bands would have and do posts to answer those questions. That is really good for SEO searching and stuff of that nature. Like if I was to start a band I would think..how do I find other members, is there an interview process to make sure they will be a good fit, what is the bands policy if someone does not show up or is flaky, should you have your own contract for gigs, what are traveling gigs like…
I think you have a great idea for your blog, and there are so many directions you can branch off of it while still staying in your niche. If you wanted to do recipes or something..you could have a section for “band food” easy recipes for snacks during practice..food that helps vocal chords..road trip foods and so on. Its another section..but still all about being in a band :)
You’ve really validated what’s been floating around my mind! I read your other post and I’m in the process of planning out how to implement better marketing. Right now I’m trying to find more online communities in my niche. Thanks for the tips :)
I think that is your best bet! I wish I had a more defined niche like you. It would of probably helped me have more growth right from the start if I had a plan and knew what I was trying to accomplish lol. let me know if you have any more questions! I love bouncing ideas around :)
Hi Jessica, this is great information you have assembled, I have bookmarked it for future reference and I would love to have you share on my Friday Features post.
Have a great weekend, Karren

Hi Jessica! The link you have for Ready made goes to the Better Homes and Gardens website. Is that correct? Just checking! I am taking your advice and trying to submit my work to some of these.
Ill look into it and get it fixed :) Thanks for letting me know!!
Fantastic list and wonderful suggestions! Do you know of any sites for submitting articles on relationships and wellness? Or perhaps share how you found these so we can do our own search in our niche!
Hey Anne! I just emailed you…I searched “wellness submission sites” and a few things popped up. I really just searched a ton of words that I thought might pop up some sites. I spent days searching lol. Maybe write down a bunch of keywords that pertain to your niche and then start by adding “submission sites” to the end of each keyword and see if anything comes up :) Let me know if you have any more questions!!
Got it! Thank you! Looks like “submission sites” are the magic words :-)
Great list and tips!
I found you through Link It To Me Link-Up Party –

This is great! Thanks for sharing! Do you have any tips for travel blog submission sites?
Hey Kelsie! I would just search “travel submission sites” and see what pops up. I think some of the places I have listed actually have more lists on their sites but if I find anything I will let you know for sure :)
thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for including me! I LOVE submissions and love your site!
