Iwas looking at the moon one night and thought how awesome it would be to capture the breath taking view and put it in my home. I don’t know if it is because it’s Fall or I just never gazed at the moon the way I did that night but the bright yellow glow was simply memorizing! I just had to make something and STAT!
So here it is my Fall Harvest Moon that warms my home all day and night! Isn’t it fun! I love making things with wood and this was so simple that I just had to share it with you.
Wood (any size as long as it is thick enough to stand on its own)
Jig Saw this is the one we have at the shop and we Love it!
Paint Pen (I love these things and could not live without them)
Hot Glue Gun/Glue
Ok so that might seem like a long list, but most crafters will have the majority of this stuff in stock..and if you are not a crafter but love them you can purchase them on my Etsy page!! How exciting is that!!?
Ok start by making a half circle on your wood. I used the edge of a bucket to trace out the half circle. Easy Peasy! Then I took the scroll saw and cut it out..this process took a whole whopping minute! I love our Jig Saw!! Then sand it down. Boom, hardest part done!
Grab your paint. I actually used a color called Harvest moon…hmm wonder where I got the wording from lol. I did one coat so that some of the wood grain showed through and made it look more natural.
After it dried I grabbed some rusty star pipberry strands and cut a piece off and stapled it on. Glue the raffia over the staple to hide it. Write your words, or leave it plain and then, are you ready for this? YOUR DONE!
So get crafty and make your own moon, or stop by the online shop and pick yourself up one today! Are you as obsessed with pipberries as I am? The rusty stars are my fave, I would put them on everything if I could!! What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by!
