I have been on a kick with boho design and bright colors lately and love how easy this wood project is!! All you need is some wood and some paint and hangers if you want to hang your wall art decor.
I am going to keep this short and sweet and just dive right into it. So get ready to create your own arrow wall decor…PS you do NOT have to be an artist to make these. I was going out of my mind because the lines were crooked and not perfect, but that is how I intended them to be..it just drives me nuts because I am an artist and choppy lines drive me bonkers. So this is really out of my element lol.
Start by grabbing supplies. You will need chip brushes, paint, and boards. I used scrap wood that was laying around my shop. If you do not have boards I suggest finding a pallet to rip down..FREE wood is good wood!
One thing I love about DIY wood projects is that the options are endless. You can paint these all the same color, you could not paint them at all. You could paint the arrows in colors and leave the wood bare or paint them all white…the ideas are endless with these! So think about your decor style and go from there.
I cut all of the wood the same length..23 inches long. This was because the board I was using allowed me to cut three pieces out of it at that length. I do not like to waste things!
Then I painted the boards front, backs and sides. You do not have to paint the backs though if you are hanging them in your house. I used chalk paint and interior paint and painted it on with a chip brush.
Then I grabbed my trusty painters pallet and some black acrylic to paint the arrows. Can you tell that my pallet gets used a TON! I may need to buy some new ones lol.
Then just start free handing on some arrows. Since they are a boho style you do not need them to be perfect. It kills me to say that…but I managed through it and loved how they turned out. I sprayed them with clear coat after they dried and added hooks on the back to hang them up!
Are they not the cutest! I hope you get to make a set and if they turn out differently I would love to see them!!
Which arrow is your favorite. I cannot decide. I love these colors so much!!
